You thought that knitting was a old-fashioned non-violent thing ? If you did, you were oh so mistaken!
As a proof, here is a quote from a fellow raveller explaining the steps of knitting to her 6 year old son:
I think he mostly liked that I described the process as “Poke him in the belly, tie him up, pull out his guts, throw him off the cliff.” He loooooooooved the “throw him off the cliff” part and laughed every stitch.
[...]
Oh, and for purling, it was “poke him in the back, tie him up, rip out his spine, throw him off the cliff.” He liked that, too.![]()
Now, you won’t regard knitters in the same way than before ! (If you ever meet me, a shiver of horror would even be welcome)(teehee)
We saw where were the flowers last week : in my flat, full of sun and light. But you must know that they were elsewere during Christmas, and in an other shape…

Sorry, these photos are rather crappy... It's Grey Winter's fault!
Don’t you remember ? I wanted to show you all the gifts I created this Christmas ! And out of 4, only 2 have been shown here.
And flowers, whom are we traditionally giving them to? (except our lovers, of course!) Yes, to our beloved moms! And these flowers are no exception, they are now draping my beautiful mama’s neck.

Instead of the clothes hanger, imagine the prettiest woman in the world: my/your mama !!
She had seen one of my first crochet blankets at its beginning and tried it as a scarf. Ever since, the idea of a crocheted scarf for her has stayed in my brain, growing slowly before blooming. This small scarf was made out of a japanese pattern.
Making it was pretty simple, but the result was stylish thanks to the variegated yarn. I do have one regret: that the Kauni Wool Effektgarn doesn’t become much softer after soaking. I only hope that time will make its wearing more agreeable and soft…

One day, we were shopping around together. Passing by a flower shop, he told me “Go on, choose those you want! I don’t offer you flowers often, it might be the only ones this year, so enjoy it!”
He didn’t have to say more (it is true after all) and now it is where the flowers are this week…

Freesias and Narcissus flying away on a cloud...
I have a brother. Those who know me in real life have already met him for sure. We have so much in common : geeks, flat-living bears, similar faces, stubborn (runs in the family, I told you), series addicts (but it seems to be much worse than I in that field). That brother can be a real pain in the ass, but he can also be really lovely (exactly like me!).
And yet ! He didn’t get any yarny thing from my own loving hands yet. This offense has been washed away in blood superwash yarn, by making him flat socks. “But he can buy some himself!” as you tell me. Yes indeed, but he has the sad habit of slouching around with flip-flops (my dear guy has the same habit) and socks that can fit in flip-flops aren’t very easy to find. Moreover, he doesn’t have the average feet : his are very large… So, making him some was a wonderful idea for Christmas !

No dear guy have been hurt during this sock-knitting and shooting
Thankfully, the dear guy is also suffering from that foot condition (you could think I’m going out with my brother, but I promise it is not the case!) and he naturally became the ideal guinea pig for sock-trying at any moment.
I didn’t have much time at all to make socks this big on time, but I succeeded with smoking hands and bleary eyes… Pfew !

Now, he's only lacking the japanese sword, but hush it up, he'd love it too much !
So here it is, the brother is happy, the brother has toasty feet, and a fraternal war has been stopped on its tracks. But I am still afraid. Very afraid. Yes, because the dear guy seems to want socks, now…
